From Sunday, 17 August, 80 participants gathered at the historic and impressive Erbacher Hof in Mainz city center for the QUIP Summer School on Quantum Sensing.
The program offered a rich mix of introductory lectures and in-depth discussions, covering topics such as optical clocks, photonic quantum sensing, quantum sensing in molecular systems, and magnetometry using vapor cells and defects in crystals.
Participants also explored state-of-the-art research during laboratory tours at the Helmholtz Institute and JGU Mainz. Practical exercises and an excursion rounded out the program, making the Summer School a comprehensive and engaging experience.
The organizers extend their thanks to all participants for their active engagement in discussions, both during presentations and in the lively, high-quality poster sessions. The enthusiasm and curiosity of the participants were key to the success of the event.
