JGU Mainz

At JGU Mainz, QUANTUM is one of the main areas of research in physics. Here, we work on various quantum technologies: ultra-precise quantum sensor technology for space applications, for medical or biological sensor technology and for fundamental studies of the laws of nature, quantum communication for novel secure protocols for the transmission of data and applications in quantum computing. With an ion-based quantum computer, a scalable, unique demonstrator is available to external users in industry and research. In addition to research on quantum technologies in QUANTUM at JGU, this field is firmly anchored in the new Bachelor’s/Master’s degree program “Applied Physics”.
